Name: Armand
Aliases: Andrei, Amadeo, Gentleman Death, Cherub, Little Devil
Birthday: November 11th, 1481
Mortal Age: 16/17
Immortal Age: Over 500
Maker: Marius
Year made: 1497
Fledgling(s): Daniel
Current Companion(s): Marius' coven: Sybelle, Benji, Pandora, Marius
Past Companion(s): Marius, Louis, Daniel
Hair: Auburn
Eyes: Brown
Height: 5'6"
Body type: Slender, but strong
Appearance: Angelic, with small features and long, curling eyelashes. His eyes are large and brown, sometimes gold and sometimes red, depending on when he's last had blood. His hands and fingers are small, pale, and long. His face is often compared to that of a Botticelli angel's. Armand's hair curls past his shoulders, though he often clips it short for the modern times. His movements and expressions can be very mortal, particularly when he laughs, though when angered he stands very still and looks anything but human. The wideness of his eyes gives him a rather innocent look, and makes him appear vulnerable even while they're cold and emotionless. It is rare when Armand seems to be anything but calm; his face is a perfect mask. He dresses nicely, expensively, but is more focused on what the clothing means to him rather than the label. He appears well-mannered and soft spoken, simple and gentle, entirely innocent of any wrongdoing. However, when he's pushed to fury, the anger in his eyes is enough to frighten even the bravest and most ancient vampire.
Personality: Armand is an observer. He does not speak without intention; everything he says and does has a purpose. In the new era he has rediscovered an almost childlike fascination with the objects around him, eager to learn in a way he hasn't experienced in centuries. Despite his interest in modern technology and culture, he is careless with his possessions. Once they're tossed away, they're easily forgotten. Unfortunately, this is a common rule for Armand. He lives his life in the present and gives very little thought of what's happened in his past. He does not speak about it, or about any of the vampires he's known. Very little is known about Armand's own life besides what was written in Interview with the Vampire as well as The Vampire Lestat. However, David is eventually able to convince him to speak of his life as a tribute to Sybelle, but if asked now, he would be silent. Secretive to a fault, Armand is both unable and unwilling to speak of these things at great length. He spoils those he loves and surrounds them with luxury, entirely oblivious to the superficiality of it all. His moods are easily hidden behind a calm, cool exterior, but when broken into they can be intense and extremely volatile. Armand's anger is something terrible to behold, and although he has to be pushed to it, he responds heatedly and sometimes violently. However, he can also be very kind and gentle to those he loves, and he takes care of his friends. Armand is known for his cruelty, however, and has a habit of clearing out fledglings he perceives as filth, unless they are of use to him. He is a good friend to have, but a deadly enemy to make. Those who hurt him he has no tolerance for, and he will destroy them without a moment's thought.

History: Born in 1481 to a poor family in Kiev, Russia, Armand (then Andrei) was a skilled icon painter. The priests believed his gift was from God. They had argument after argument with his father, the last straw being that they wanted to imprison Armand. Soon after this, he was kidnapped by slave traders. Armand was taken to Constantinople and then Venice, where he would work in a brothel. However, he was saved by Marius and brought to live in a wealthy household with other boys who became close friends and confidantes. He was educated, but had a much closer relationship with Marius than the others. Although Marius and Armand obviously had a father/son bond, Armand also shared his bed.
His peace was short-lived. A cult of demon-worshipers kidnapped Armand, burned Marius alive in front of him, and imprisoned him until he was forced to become a member. He followed their instructions, but never truly accepted their teachings. Within six months he was sent to lead a cult in Paris, and continued to do so until the arrival of Lestat de Lioncourt. Following the rules of his dogma, Armand arrested Lestat and brought him to his lair underneath the cemetery "Les Innocents." Lestat mocked their beliefs and Armand said not a word, realizing that he spoke the truth. The cult was broken up. Embittered, Armand killed most of them in a rage. With the six remaining, he took the gold Lestat gave him and lead the Theatre des Vampires. Despite being refused by Lestat after he begged to join him on his travels, the two supposedly parted on good terms.
Louis eventually wandered into Paris with Claudia and met up with the Theatre des Vampires. Armand fell instantly in love with Louis and had to have him for himself. He allowed the members of the theatre to kill Claudia (also in accordance with Lestat's testimony -- Claudia had attempted to murder Lestat), both because he wanted Louis and out of revenge towards Lestat, who had left him in Paris so long ago. Armand traveled with Louis around the world for years until the two parted in New Orleans, their love destroyed for one another because of what Armand had done to Claudia, as well as the loss of Louis' passion.
For a while, Armand haunted Lestat in the rundown mansion Lestat stayed in, but left once he made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with Armand. For years, Armand wandered New Orleans alone, killing the young vampires who tried to settle in the city. One evening, he heard tapes playing in one of the old houses. He came across Daniel Molloy, the mortal who had interviewed Louis, and imprisoned him for days while he tried to decide what to do with him. When Armand finally let Daniel go, he proposed to follow him and learn about him. He did this for years, pursuing Daniel around the world and demanding that Daniel teach him about the modern era. Five years into the chase, Armand gave Daniel some of his blood, and since then the two were tied together. Despite Daniel's repeated request that Armand turn him into a vampire, he steadily continued to refuse, until eventually giving in to save Daniel from death.
Eventually the two parted, unable to stand each other after the illusion between them was broken. Armand later met up with Lestat and David to listen to Lestat's story about Memnoch. He warned Lestat against believing in Memnoch's tale, then stayed with David to aid Dora after Lestat disappeared. Later, and upon discovery Lestat's journey was real, Armand committed suicide to prove his faith (as well as the reality of Veronica's Veil.)
By some miracle, he ended up in an apartment complex across the street from where two mortals, Benji and Sybelle, lived. Armand killed Sybelle's brother, and out of the gratitude the two took care of him and brought him a mortal to feed from. Armand remained with Benji and Sybelle for a while before letting anyone know that he was still alive, and they become very dear to him. Eventually, Marius turned both Benji and Sybelle into vampires so that Armand did not have to lose them, and so that they would grow to resent Marius instead of Armand. This crushed Armand, whose already fragile trust in Marius became lost forever.
