STIRLING
~Continued from the Oak Haven thread~
Stirling had left a note behind for Cassandra letting her know he had to attend some buisness and that not to worry. He would be back in a matter of days. As the jet came in for a landing he pulled out the file and studied the instructions on how to get to The Night Island. He crossed his legs as he loosened his tie.
He raised an eyebrow as he studied the file. He spoke softly to himself. "Yes, there seems to be some bizzare activity indeed. A hotel of some sorts. People checking in and not....checking out. Unexplained deaths....bodies found in odd places. Stirling closed the file and stood up and climbed down the steps to get off the jet and entered the limo that waited for him. He gazed out of window as the limo took him across the scene. Miami.....where the palm trees swayed in the warm breeze and where you could find the white sandy beaches. He could see the attraction. Miami was a beautiful place. It was also a place filled with crime. A great hunting ground for the vampires to seek the "evil doers" as they say. The driver let him out at a Hotel/Casino where he checked in and put his suitcases away.
He came back down to the bar and had a scotch as he made the call to Oak Haven letting them know he had made it to the location. Flipping his cell phone shut and putting it back in his jacket pocket he then ajusted his hat. He walked out into the night taking a deep breath. He would walk from this point on knowing he was near the hotel. The hotel where people checked in sometimes and sometimes never checked out. He could already smell the ocean.
As he walked on he could hear some faint music coming from a ballroom just across the street from where he was walking. When something distracted him. His telepathic abilities told him that there was a being...not human presence very near to him.
"Vampire," he whispered.
Stirling crossed the street cloaking his thoughts. He passed the ballroom where the music seemed very loud. He peered into the dark ally where he saw a female and she had a man in her graps! She let the man fall and turned to Stirling who was clinging to the wall of the building.
Stirling had to go back into a well lit area. He knew he would not be attacked if there was a crowd of people. Too late.....just as he turned she was right in front of him. He gasped. He had to look twice. It was his angel of the night. It was Gabrielle! The one who saved his life the night before. He stood there in disbelief.
(GABRIELLE)
Taking to the night sky, I briefly wondered to what hot spot I should travel tonight.
It was a beautiful night. Warm and yet wonderfully cool against my preternaturally sensitive skin. As the soft warm lights of my little Island danced in my head. I suddenly had an overwhelming desire to go to an Island. But not my own.
Non...tonight I wanted to be amongst the living.
I wanted to feel once again the way my mortal lover had allowed me to feel last night.
To feel that delicious mortal warmth against my preternaturally cold skin. Ah, and by chance I might just happen upon a delightfully drunken mortal and enliven my inner self with his tender mortal blood.
Smiling mischievously at the idea. I quickly flew in the direction that most vampires went to when they felt the need. For a little speed.
Moments later I swiftly and graciously landed on the front of the little imps most lavish hotel. Contemplating briefly I thought for only the slightest moment going to say hello to the evil little imp. But the thirst was greedily burning a hole in my throat and so I casually walked into the lavish hotel. Once again, on the prowl.
Seconds later my prey happily slunk to the floor of the lavish hotel. A happy little drunken smile alighting his gentle face. Taking only a tender sip to refresh me. I licked my lips looking around to see if anyone had noticed. And my sapphire eyes danced and sparkled as the vision of my insatiable and most handsome mortal lover looked upon me. Only slightly gasping as he caught me in the throes of the blood swoon.
Lost in thought I nonchalantly stepped over my still breathing prey as though he were nothing but a nuisance, vampire road kill. And seductively slinked over to my precous mortal lover and easily slipped myself into his warm and yet quite startled embrace.
Kissing him softly as I wrapped my lithe and slender arms tenderly around his beautiful mortal body, I leaned forward into his delicously warm embrace. The beautiful visions of us laying naked on the sand lost in intimate and mortal passions as the moon and the waves of the ocean provided the most beautiful scenery any two pair of lovers could possibly hope to dream of.
My soft satin lips delicously warm after my most recent little meal. I seductively whispered in his ear, as the sound of a hot latin tango enlived the mood for us.
"The lady would like this dance, if mon amour is willing."
STIRLING)
Stirling never really believed in things that he couldn't see. And he had seen many things. When she glided into his arms he knew this was real. Her hypnotic gaze shattered the force field on which he had created around his heart long ago. He had momentarly forgotten who he was at this moment. To play with words or play with love was unthinkable for him. He couldn't understand what this was between them. Attraction was the key factor involed.
He had told no one about her. He would keep her identity and what they shared to himself. He didn't feel the need to give such secrets away. Although, she was still a mystery to him really. And tonight they were just two people enjoying each others company once again.
After he had gotten over the shock of her being in his presence, he lifted her hand kissing the back of it.
"Yes, of course Madam Gabrielle." He then led her into the ballroom making his way to the middle of the dance floor with her. He wondered if she knew this dance? There eyes locked to one another as Stirling made the first move.
He took her hand and pulled, spinning her into his arms, she gasped which caused Stirling to smile as he whispered into her ear,"I never thought I would see you again."
Suddenly, he released her, causing her to spin back out of his arms. He made a quick gesture and took her by the waist , lifting her off the floor as her slinder legs wrapped around his waist. Stirling's leg slid backwards as her body arched backwards, her head almost touching the floor.
He then reached under her back, and pulled her to him with a sudden movement as her feet touch the floor again. She brought up her leg and laid her inner thigh against his hip.
Then suddenly she took off his hat and sent it flying as her fingers went through his hair.
Stirling never danced with anyone with such passion. His heart of stone was turned into clay.
Arms extened, hand in hand, bodies pressed together, walking to the right of the ballroom then switching as they walked to the left. He spoke to her.
"I'll do almost anything that you want me to."
He stops, taking her hand, turning her in a circle ,then brings her to him. He cradles the back of her head and touches the small of her back as he thrust her into a dip. He lingers there looking into her eyes letting his hand travel down her waist, her thigh, and to the bend of her knee.
He was surprised by his own behavior but, he didn't care. This was there time together and the rest of the world could wait.
Abruptly, he stood with her and gathered her face in his hands.
"Oh, Gabrielle...what is it that draws me to you?"
He slowly gave into kissing her lips and then drew himself back.
His brows knitted as he secretly cursed the Talamasca. He knew they would always be separted by the order in which he devoted his life to.
" If we are to always meet by chance then so be it. I'd settle for nothing less."
He takes her hand, and places his other hand to her waist as they both now begin to circle the dance floor.
(GABRIELLE)
"Yes, of course Madam Gabrielle."
Stirling said as he pulled me into a tight embrace.
'Ah, mon Dieu!'
But what bliss it is to feel such passion once again. Although in truth, I had never really known it in my mortality. Those horrid ages so long ago, past and seemingly forgotten, yet always....always, forever haunting my memories.
Closing my eyes against his wonderful mortal warmth, I replayed every detail of our enchanting night on my wonderful little Island. Our Island, now perhaps....
A secret little place where two forbidden lovers could let themselves go. And allow themselves to feel such passion.
It was often at times more painful than sweet.
To have your heart, the very depths of your soul come together so sweetly, so intensely.
Can anyone know the intensity of such emotion?
To be a vampire, forcing such feelings away from your cruel and callous heart. For you have no other choice, if you are to survive your so called immortality.
For what is it to be immortal? And yet death with every step you take.
To live forever, and yet cut the life short of one who should per chance to cross your deadly path.
'Ah, but not this one!'
No! Not this one, my lovely and beautifully handsome Stirling. How I love to gaze into his eyes! Looking at me so lovingly, his gaze painfully filling my heart and warming me in ways in which he will never, could never know. Indeed, as my son once said..."This is bliss, to feel such love."
But I am not my son.
No, inasmuch as I love my beloved son and maker, I could never fall in and out of love so easily. My mortality, for what it was worth, taught me one very valuable lesson. Be you mortal or immortal, you must always hold your heart in your hand, never on your sleeve. Do not allow meloncohlly emotions to rule your every thought, your every desire, your every whim.
For love for us. Be us mortal or immortal, should surely lead to.
Disaster...
But then again....
Slowly I gently raised my hand to my mortal lovers face. Such warmth against my cold fingers. Only slightly warming as the tender blood of my victim continued to surge through my preternatural viens.
'Ah, but how I loved this feeling! This tenderness, this mortal warmth!'
Clasping his hand to mine, my brave mortal lover took my hand in his. And smiling at me oh so sweetly, he lead me onto the dance floor. And pulled me forward and strongly into his arms. Suddenly, he released me, spinning me out of his arms and then with a quick gesture he took me by the waist and lifted me off the floor as my legs wrapped around his waist, my body arching backward as my long glorious golden shimmering curls lightly swept the dance floor.
Giggling softly, I delighted in his wonderful dance movements. I had never...danced in such a way.
My last dance, had quite honestly been centuries ago when my beloved son had been but a small child. And my husband. The Marquis. Still had ample finances to fund such lavish balls at our isolated castle. If I recall correctly, it was the "Minuite" a piece by a new musician of the time called, "The Blue Danube."
Ah, but those were such lavish and decadent times. When a lady, a true lady. Could call together all her ladies in waiting and make such a perfect night come true for all of her esteemed guests. But those memories, however blissful. Were also quite painful. To dance the night away in the sweltering heat intensifying with the brightly lit candles of which there were many, and under so many layers of dress. The corset binding, cutting your waist and making it quite difficult to breathe.
Ah, but this was quite...different. Indeed, I could continue on this way all night. As he lifted me back into his strong arms, he pulled me gently into his warm embrace once again, softly whispering into my ear.
"I'll do almost anything that you want me to."
I smiled against his cheek as I lightly kissed him for such a wonderful sentiment. But I could never ask anything of my most handsome and mortal lover. Save to continue loving me in the best way that he possibly could. And understand, that I might not always be able to return his sentiments. It is cold and cruel shell in which we vampires live in. And one which we MUST reside in to continue you in this so called seeming immortality.
"I'll do almost anything that you want me to."
His words continued to affect me, "Anything you want me to."
And how I wanted to simply scream out.
"JUST LOVE ME LOVE ME LOVE ME!!!!, never, never, never stop loving me...."
But I could not.
To say such words. Such mortal words. No, I could not do it. As blood tears threatened to flood my eyes. The sweet rythem of the Tango lightly mocking my intense preternatural emotions.
Taking my hands in his. He turns me in a circle, then once again brings me closely into his embrace. His hands traveling all over me as he brings me into a lavish dip. Intimately touching my waist, my thigh, and the bend of my knee.
Then gathering my face in his warm hands as we stood in the middle of the dance floor, he tells me.
"Oh, Gabrielle...what is it that draws me to you?"
And then ever so slowly, he kisses me, wet and full on the lips and then slowly draws back. The tingles of his lips pressed so wonderfully against mine causing me to shudder, and my fangs ache to continue this kiss in a more intimate and vampiric way. But I could never, never do that.
Then pulling me forward and holding me tightly he lightly whispers.
"If we are to always meet by chance then so be it. I'd settle for nothing less."
"And so shall it be."
I return his whisper as my eyes close. Loving the feel of this, wishing this night would never end. Suddenly, I had an intense desire to resume our intimacy of the night before. On my far away Island. But it was too late for such a travel.
Hmmmm, the Imp has quite a few hotels on his own quite lavish Island, perhaps my
mortal lover might take the hint and persuade me to check into a room with him. But how to get this message across. In my time, ladies did not make such an offer. But then, I was a vampire now.
Smiling wickedly, I kissed him passionately as I sent him a quite definite telepathic message. And he returned my kiss, pressing himself closely to me, his male arousal already thickening against my thigh as it heightened in his intense heat. And we kissed there, standing in the middle of Armand's lavish ballroom. Lost in each others arms as visions of twinkling stars, flickering candles and ocean waves played in the background of our shared thoughts.
STIRLING
She whispered in my ear,"And so shall it be."
Ah, yes she was like a precious jem I had stolen from a from someone's private collection. I knew her life was so different from mine yet she chose to come out and be in the moderen world with me. Sounded by people and things that were so diferent from her past life. I could tell she still cling to her old ways but then she also combinded the new age. Oh how I would love to get in her mind and just walk around for a bit. What was her story? I couldn't help but wonder, I wouldn't be Stirling if I didn't.
Her kiss became more intense. I could catch a glimps here and there of images and words from her. And then I got a clear shot. I wasn't at all surprised by it. I wanted to be close to her and also wanted to be in her private company. I knew I was forgetting the reason I had come to this place and then I caught the word Armand from her. Wait a second...I knew that name.
I slowly pulled back from her lips and looked into her eyes forgetting again what it was I was just thinking about. She had that effect on me. Before I could stop myself, being the romantic fool that I am, I began to whisper a famous romantic poem in her ear.......
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints - I love thee with the breadth,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! - and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
I took her by hand,"I have a room just across the street at a hotel/casino."
We made our way out and I could not resist kissing her cheek and her neck. I whispered a romantic quote into her ear.
"Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible - it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could."
I smiled at her as we continued to walk. We came to the hotel and walked up the stairs towards my room. I reached into my pocket for my key and in my clumsiness drop it to the floor. As I reach for them she suddenly shoved me to the wall. "AH!"
Her body pressed next to mine, her lips grazing my lips as she spoke in an erotic way. She had me pinned. With a skillful hand she reached for the root of my desire causing my jaw to clinch. I wanted those keys badly so I could be with her in private. She giggled looking down at the floor to the key I had dropped. Next thing I knew it was floating towards me. I reached out for it and clutched it in my hand. I gave her a grin.
"Show off."
I took her by the shoulders and flipped her around pinning her against the wall as my lips fell upon hers.
Stopping, I put the key in the door. As we came inside we were still tangled up in one another. I used my foot to kick the door shut not wanting to let her go. We began taking each others clothes off. In our haste we knocked a couple of things over bumping into stuff and breaking a few things.
(GABRIELLE)
Slowly he pulled his lips from mine and looked deeply into my eyes whispering such sweet words as he gazed lovingly at me.
"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways."
A poem it was.
A most romantic poem written by Madame Elizabeth Barret Browning herself.
It was such a romantic gesture, this recital of that loving poem that I held my breath in until he uttered the last word.
"I shall but love thee better after death."
And then once again my eyes threatened to well with tears.
Tears of sadness and utterly and absolute loneliness of so long ago. But these tears that I speak of are not those of a vampire. Non, these are human tears. Once shed by a woman in a cold and crumbling castle. Surrounded by children she knew not. Save but one...my youngest. My most loving and adventurous child. My Lestat.
But those tears were never shed for my sweet and beautiful child, be he mortal or immortal. Non, these tears were shed for myself. For all those cold and lonely nights I spent in that horrid castle. Forgotten and utterly, utterly alone.
And now I stand here being held two hundred and forty-five years into the future. And this most tender and loving, gentle man tells me such painful words. But he cannot understand.
"I shall but love thee better after death."
And what am I but death?
Cold and calculated death.
And as I stood there I began to tremble ever so slightly, and I wondered to myself. What was it like to be alive and mortal and ....Human once again?
I had read the tale my son once told during his adventures with the "Body Thief." My precious son had found the entire episode quite unpleasant and repulsive even. And yet those words still rang in my ears.
"I shall but love thee better after death."
'Non.'
I thought to myself as I pulled myself closer into his mortal warmth and in that moment, I considered briefly all of my vampiric friends. My son, seemingly lost to his beloved Louis. David, searching out for Lestat when my beloved son only wanted his Louis. The poor dearly departed Enkil, who had loved his insane Queen so intensely that he gave his very soul to be but a marble stone by her side for all eternity. The marble God Marius, who constantly pined for his Pandora, and yet could not be in the same room with her for more than one night. Bianca, who willingly gave up her immortal life to save the burnt remains of her beloved Marius, only to be left abandoned and then betrayed by her marble maker.
But those were vampiric loves.
And my Stirling. My beloved was quite....mortal.
Sighing deeply as I continued to lavish in his warm embrace. I kissed him tenderly and then he took my hand and led me out of the Ballroom and upstairs to his room.
Fumbling with the keys, he dropped them in his excitement and bent down to pick them up.
I stopped him short, and quickly pinning him against the wall kissed him passionately.
I smiled against his lips as he breathed heavily against my embrace, and then ever so slightly, with hardly less than a thought. I levitated those keys and placed them neatly into his surprised hand.
Giggling softly as he whispered in my ear.
"Show off!"
Quickly he opened the door, and we fell back into each others arms. Kissing and desperately pulling each others clothes. I let him take the lead, knowing I could easily rip his clothes to shreds in a preternaturally quick movement. And loving the feeling of this oh so mortal man, his only wish to ravish me and take me into his arms and love me love me love me.
Ah, but what a fiendish devil I am. To desire such love, such warmth, such loving tenderness.
'And what of it!'
I thought to myself as he pressed my now utterly naked body against the mattress, and continued his wonderful and rapturous kisses. Gently nuzzling and nipping at my preternatural skin. Sending delicious cascades of teasing waves of sensations all though my perfect and satin smooth body.

I love thee freely, as men strive for right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
