*Thread Continued From The Country Club*
He hears her speaking again and he smiles but, then he gasp when he hears her say.
"I do know that you know what I am."
The words that followed touched his heart as they rang true to him.
"I have never known that such love, if that is what it is, could even exist."
She then quickly brought him to his feet. She was saying they had to dress and they could waste no time. Stirling knew what she meant by this. He then forced him self back into his clothes. They were ready to leave this beautiful island. He felt her arms cling tightly around him as his heart began to race he braced him self for this. As they began to rise into the air Stirling would savor this experience.
The first time he flew with her he had been some what unconscious. He held tight to her as he gaze across the dark waters they passed. Miles and miles they travled. The wind bit into his skin but, he ignored it. He smiled as he looked into her beautiful sparkling eyes. She whispered into his ear,"Where would you like to go?"
"Oak Haven." he replied as he playfully kissed her ear.
Soon, he saw the familar place he had been taken from eariler.....New Orleans. He knew this meant he would be going back to his regular life. And suddenly, the thought of Cassandra came to his mind and he wondered if she was alright.
Stirling swallowed hard as he heard the words that came into his ear and loving that french acent she spoke with.
"Do not worry chere, no harm will come to your beloved Cassandra. Fear not, she is in no danger."
He sighed with relief as he hugged her to him. She had to know....didn't she?
They began to descend as they swiflty landed on the balcony of the Retreat House. All was quiet around the place only the sound of the crickets chirping. Sadly he knew it was time to say good bye. He let his fingers lightly graze the jawline of her face. Suddenly, she was upon him once more as she thrusted her tongue deep into his mouth. He put his arms around her hugging her close to him. Yes, yes,yes he thought. He did not care if she was a vampire. She had stole his heart and that's all that mattered to him at this moment.
She pulled away from him, taking a few steps back. He knew she about to leave him. He dared to quickly grab her hand.
"Wait! I haven't told you my name. It's Stirling."
She looked at him with those sparlking blue eyes and said.
"You may call me Gabrielle."
He nodded to this as he kissed the back of her hand. She then backed away from him and vanished. He stood there on the balcony looking out into the dark sky. He smiled to him self and then turned on his heel and made his way into the Retreat House.
(GABRIELLE)
As I held him tightly in my arms while we swiftly took to the air, I whispered seductively in his ear.
"Where would you like me to take you?"
"Oak Haven." he replied as he playfully kissed my ear.
And then embracing his warm body oh so close to mine, I flew us immediately to that place not so far away from my sons home on the Rue Royale. And as we flew through the night sky I marveled at his braveness.
How could one so warm with passion, so utterly loving in all his intimacies with me only moments before knowing the monster that I am. And as I was lost in my own thoughts his thoughts slipped easily into mine. He was worried about his beloved Cassandra. The beautiful young mortal girl with a mind and a spirit that matched my own. Bravely independent and headstrong as I had been so many centuries ago. Ah yes, I did like that young one. And if he loved her then she had simply stolen my heart as well. For whatever there was of it.
"Do not worry chere, no harm will come to your beloved Cassandra. Fear not, she is in no danger."
I whispered once again so softly into his ear. Wanting to calm his nerves as I have never wanted to do another. And as my soft and scentless breath lightly touched his ear. He sighed with relief as I held him in my arms oh so protectively. And as we neared the building to which I had requested, I felt a sharp pain in my heart, a horrible twist that I must say I had never felt before. And I puzzled at this new sensation. 'Could this be love?'
'No, this is no such thing.' I told myself immediately. I am a monster that feeds in the night. A lone predator who would have just as soon as taken his life simply to satisfy my own burning thirst. And yet, the pain in my heart would not remove itself. It lingered and throbbed as though a knife had been plunged deeply into it. And as I easily descended onto his balcony I felt the desperate urge, the need to run like one of the frightened gazelles in my beloved Africa.
But I did not run, and as his strong and warm arms wrapped themselves tightly around my slender waist bringing me oh so close to him. I sighed in almost mortal relief and sublime happiness. That my wonderful fantasy had not quite ended.
And my skin flushed as the warmth of his fingers grazed lightly against the jawline of my face. And I looked deeply into his warm mortal eyes and wondered did he not see me for the preternatural monster that I was? But I did not want an answer. I wanted him, his scent, the wonderful warmness of his human mouth against mine. And overwhelmed with intense mortal desires I pulled myself upwards into his warm embrace and kissed him passionately, as I had once done oh so long ago when I was but a young maiden, and the boy I had been courting had snuck me off my familles land and into a nest of hay in a barn not so far away.
Ah what wonderful memories I had of those days gone by when I thought I had the rest of my life ahead of me and a vast wonder of opportunities awaited me. Such foolish thoughts for a young girl such as I in the times that had once held me prisoner and in such lavish dresses.
But I could feel the coming of the dawn creeping itself into my very bones. A gentle ache which I knew would soon follow in the form of the death sleep. And so regretfully I pulled out of the warmth of his arms and lifted myself only inches from his balcony, ready to be gone in the blink of an eye.
"Wait! I haven't told you my name. It's Stirling!"
Glancing back at him my sapphire eyes sparkling with delight. I whispered back to him, "And you may call me Gabrielle."
And as he gently placed a warm kiss upon my hand, I smiled tenderly at him. And a moment later, I was gone.

~ NEXT DAY 6:00 P.M.~
Stirling was in the library of the Retreat House. All was quiet in the house. Only the sound of the ice cubes that tinkled in his glass of scotch when he took a sip. He ajusted his glasses he wore. He was in deep thought and concentration. He was studing an old relic. It was a book...a book of spells. It was found by one of the field workers in a cave in Califorina. Stirling had to be very careful as not to damage the fragile thing. He wanted to try to determine just how old it was and how it came to be. The book was still intact due to the parchment in which it was written on.
Stirling put the book down and removed his glasses. He had to take a break because his vision was becoming a blur. After rubbing his eyes he took another sip of his scotch and lit a cigarette. Letting himself relax he began to think of lastnights events. He wondered had it just been all a dream? No, it wasn't he thought as he rubbed the back of his head feeling the knot that was there from the blow he suffered from one of the men who had tried to rob him.
Stirling stood up shoving one hand in his pocket and holding the cigarette in the other hand. He walked over to the window and looked up at the night sky. He let out a sigh. He was thinking....thinking of her.
Just then one of the members walked in with a file in his hand. Stirling was startled as he was pulled from his thoughts.
"What's this." --(Stirling)
"It's from the Elders and I was told that only you were allowed to read the file." ---(member)
"Alright, thank you." --(Stirling)
And with that the member walked away leaving Stirling alone with the file to read. He put his cigarette out and picked up the file and opened it.
