Rufus walked the perimeter around the wooded area and checked the traps they had set up.He had plenty of time to double check later before the sun went down. One of the traps had been sprung but nothing was there. He didn’t think anything of it. It happened sometimes.
“Gretchen.” He said into his walkie. “I found nothing yet. I’m coming back.”
He walked a stretch on the path up and away from an old decrepit house. They had set up cameras to catch movement of whoever or whatever was around here. Gretchen was in their van watching on the tv monitors.
“What are you wearing?” He joked.
His smile faded when he heard footsteps behind him. He took out his silencer and turned around.

Gretchen yawned deeply, it was late into the night and she desperately hated the confinement of waiting in the van while Rufus played his usual -I'm gonna play the hero and save the world- persona. She laid back on the seat thinking what fun it might be to challenge Rufus to a mixed martial arts battle. Smiling at the thought, Rufus rudely awakened her with his voice crackling on the walkie talkie. She cringed as she thought, two high professional mercenaries and we are using walkie talkies for surveillance, we gotta talk to Val and Matt about getting a raise so we can update our equipment! “What are you wearing?” spoke the walkie talkie, "Nothing but my gun." She replied smiling, she stopped short from continuing her snappy comeback when she noticed the walkie talkie had suddenly become silent. "Rufus! What's going on?!!" she spoke urgently into the walkie talkie, no response. She grabbed her weapons and walked out of the van, the wind was picking up fiercely and the wolves began howling what sounded like in the thousands. The wind had picked up so badly that the van began to sway and the tree branches appeared to be reaching for her. "Rufus!!!" she screamed out for him, "Where are you!!!" In the distance she saw a dark cloud illuminating from the night sky. She ran through the trees desperately screaming his name. Suddenly, she looked up at the sky, and her eyes became huge with fear as her mouth widened into a silent scream. The dark cloud had formed into a huge and menacing hand, and it was quickly reaching out for her!
(and no she is not naked!)

[Continued from the Talamasca in London board under the Death Finally Found Us thread]
Stirling and Jonny parked down the road and hid the car off into the woods. They walked together through the woods. Jonny led the way knowing which way to go. “I see a van in the distance.” Stirling said, knowing that must be where Gretchen and Rufus were that Jonny had mentioned earlier.
Soon, Stirling saw the path with the overgrown grass on either side. Just like his dream. He froze when he saw Jonny duck back into the tall grass. It happened all so fast. A man came out of the woods talking on a walkie and then spun around, pointing his gun at him.
He could hear a woman screaming into the walkie. She sounded afraid. The wind picked up and he stumbled from the force of it. He could see the clouds shift and change at a rapid rate. The clouds began to take on the shape of a hand. It was then that he saw Wendall Wilson appear in a golden cloud of dust particles. He tapped Rufus on the shoulder and commanded him to sleep.
Wendall drew a huge circle in the air with his finger made up of golden light. He drew symbols within the circle. He removed a golden jewel from his breast pocket and the jewel ground to dust in his tight fist. He blew the dust into the circle and the magical circle shot straight to the clouds and healed the tear in the fabric of the universe.
The wind died down and the sky was clear again. Wendall placed a hand on Stirling’s shoulder whom was standing there with his mouth agape. “I fixed the tear, now go fulfil your end of the bargain.” Wendall flashed his white teeth and disappeared in a golden cloud of dust.
Stirling blinked, “Uh um...come along Jonny. We must hurry!” They ran down the path towards the old decrypted house. “I know where to go.” Stirling shouted. “Be careful!”

An older man stood before him dressed in a suit and tie with his hands up in surrender. "Rufus what's going on!" He heard Gretchen through the walkie. The wind picked up and nearly knocked him to the ground. "Rufus!" He heard her scream. "Where are you!!!"
He looked up and saw the clouds go dark and swirl and change. He didn’t like it. It felt creepily odd. “Gretchen, get out of here!” He yelled through the deafening wind as he saw a hand form in the clouds. He blinked hard, wondering what he was seeing.
“Don’t move.” He told the older man.
He felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and another man stood there. “Sleep.” He said and snapped his fingers. Rufus fell like a sack of potatoes to the ground.

Gretchen stumbled backwards almost hitting her head on the sharp rocks, her eyes wide with fear, her gun poised and ready for action, her senses blazing and ready for a fight! The hand reached down, but it didn't reach for her, the fucking hand reached out for Rufus! “Gretchen, get out of here!” She heard him scream, then from out of no where an older man appeared. He reached out and touched Rufus on the shoulder, in less than a second Rufus fell down in a slump.
What the fuck?!! Gretchen whispered, unsure of her next move, she held her gun up high against her forehead, and waited to follow this mysterious older man who seemingly came out of nowhere. She knew Rufus was okay. When they first met and began working together they invented an implant and had it buried it deep within their skin. This implant automatically gave their partners vitals simply by pressing their thumb to their index finger, which came in very handy in instances such as this.
Gretchen took a deep and silent breath, leaned against a giant tree and hid in the darkness of this stormy night as she waited for this mystery man. Her semi automatic revolver poised as she watched his every move.

Jonny came out of the bushes and was faced with Gretchen who was leaning against a tree. Their eyes met. She had her gun pointed at his chest. He remained silent but scanned the area. Stirling was already at the house. Rufus began to groan, waking up.
With a sly grin, Jonny ran off in a blur of movement. He dodged the bear traps and net traps. Bullets whizzed past him but one managed to graze his right bicep. He hissed in pain but kept going. “Stirling...where are you?” Jonny called as he entered the musty darkened house.
A dim light caught his attention. He headed toward the light that led down an open door in the wooden floor. Down the steps he cautiously went. “Stirling.” He whispered. Shadows could be seen along the rock wall. Jonny ran.
He pulled from his back pocket a stake as he approached the shadow movement. Stirling and the killer vampire were in an unsettling struggle. With silver twine, Stirling was behind the vampire strangling it with brute force only a human could muster. He twisted the twine with gritted teeth. He was red-faced and sweating. The vampire's skin was sizzling where the silver touched it. “Die you son of bitch!” Stirling shouted.
Jonny brought the stake up and stabbed the vampire in the heart. The vampire's legs sagged, loosening Stirling’s grip. With a loud hiss the vampire spun around and knocked Stirling to the ground. The vampire then jumped on Jonny and sank it’s fangs into his neck. Jonny could feel the paralyzing liquid in his veins. He slumped to the ground unable to move.
“You bastard!” Stirling shouted. The vampire spun around and Stirling grabbed the stake and shoved it in harder with a sickening crunch. The vampire stumbled backwards against the rock wall. It let out an unholy shriek. It’s skin began to turn an ashy grey and fall off. Soon, the vampire was nothing but a pile of ash.
Stirling gave a sigh of relief. Finally, his nightmare was gone for good.
His head jerked into the direction of the staircase. Someone was coming. He had to get Jonny out of here. Bullets began to fly and bounce off the walls creating sparks. Stirling ducked low. There wasn’t time to get Jonny without getting them both killed. Their eyes met. “I’ll come back for you. I promise you this my friend.” And with that Stirling ran down the corridor until he found a door that led out to the woods. He found the car and left but would not be gone for long. Not without a plan and perhaps maybe even backup.

“What in the hell was that?” Rufus groggily got to his feet. He turned a slow circle trying to get his bearings. He heard shots fired. Gretchen was in hot pursuit of a possible captive. The same possible captive they had encountered a few days ago.
The creature avoided all the traps set in place. They would have to use better tactics next time. He chased after Gretchen to the old house. He could hear shouting and what sounded like a struggle. He followed Gretchen down the staircase to discover an old man shoving a wooden stake into the heart of a vampire. They watched as the vampire turned to ash.
This intrigued him and yet he was disgusted by it. The supernatural needed their own planet away from normal people. They let the bullets fly but the old man escaped. It wasn’t a total loss. Jonny wasn’t moving a muscle. Maybe he got shot somewhere they didn’t know about or maybe that vampire did something to him. Either way they were taking him back to the asylum.
