Cassandra pulled her over coat close as the rain began to beat down on the glass window panes. She popped out her umbrella and stepped down from the steps away from the country club. It was a boring night. She had no one to talk to really. Fake laughter and practiced smiles of the rich and well know upstanding citizens having another chairty auction for the local shelters.
"Now where are those damn keys?" Rumaging through her purse as she made her way to her red corvett that was parked on the end around the corner.
"Please Mr.! L-Let me go!"
Cassandra's head snapped up as she gasped. "Whuh?" She looked around, squinting her eyes, tring to see through the sheets of rain that continued to beat down.
"I-I promise I won't say a word t-to anyone about what y-your friend done! (Gagging gurgling noises.)
She walked down the next block and peered into the alley. Big mistake. What she saw left her speechless. A man, dressed in dark clothes dropped a corpse to the ground. His head slowly turned to her, blood dripped from it's chin, eyes.....almost glowing. He walked towards her, a slow smile forming on his lips as his hand reached out to her. Cassandra took a couple of shaky steps back. She tried to blink but the hypnotic stare prevented it.
"Come to me...." The vampire said. His voice vibrated through her and she felt as if she might faint.
(Fighting and struggling noises.) "Ha! I'll kill you before you leave this alley!" She came out of no where. A female. Cassandra blinked and looked to the side. The female was fighting a vampire. Must be his friend. "Run woman!" She shouted to Cassandra. "Get out of here! Go!"
Cassandra ran across the street making her way inside a public place. A bar. She weaved through the crowd, bumping into people. She looked back and gasped. The vampire followed her! She looked away from his glowing eyes and stood near the bar area as she scanned the people. The female fighter just walked in. Cassandra was sure she was tracking the vampire that was after her.
The vampire seemed to float back and forth with ease, keeping his eyes on her and he kept getting closer and closer. As if stalking his prey. Cassandra moved away from the bar and a hand grabbed her arm.
"Miss Jones. We were just about to start." A nice young man addressed her.
"Excuse me?" She lifted a brow.
"You know. The live band? Come on now. Can't keep everyone waiting." He gestured to the stage.
"Waiting? But I'm not---" Cassandra gasped when she lifted her eyes and the vampire was standing right behind the man whom was speaking to her.
"Alright! Alright! What do I do?" She said as she climbed up on the stage.
"Here let me take your coat." He took her coat revealing her elegant red party dress. The man whistled through his teeth and nodded. "Yes ma'ma you do look the part. Very classy. Very nice."
Cassandra looked out into the smoky crowd. The vampire had a snarl fixed on his face. The female fighter close by. She nodded once to her as if knowing exactly what was going on.
The young man took the mic and the crowd hushed. The DJ stopped the music as he introduced Cassandra Oliver as Miss Jones. Live intertainment for this evening. People clapped and hooted. Cassandra looked around. Her heart racing, breathing fast. She'd never done this sort of thing in her life. But one look at the vampire gave her the courage.
The music began. She heard the base, fingers snapping, a familiar beat. She knew this song. One Stirling played out of his collection of many old records. Stepping up to the mic she began.
Ella Fitzgerald ~ Fever
Never know how much I love you Never know how much I care When you put your arms around me I get a fever that's so hard to bear You give me fever When you kiss me Fever when you hold me tight Fever In the morning Fever all through the night Sun lights up the daytime Moon lights up the night I light up when you call my name And you know I'm gonna treat you right
You give me fever When you kiss me Fever when you hold me tight Fever In the morning Fever all through the night
Everybody's got the fever That is something you all know Fever isn't such a new thing Fever started long ago
Romeo loved Juliet Juliet she felt the same When he put his arms around her, He said Julie, baby, you're my flame. Thou givest fever When we kisseth Fever with thy flaming youth Fever, I'm a fire Fever, yay, I burn forsooth
Captain Smith and Pocahontas Had a very mad affair When her daddy tried to kill him, She said daddy, no, don't you dare He gives me fever, With his kisses, fever when he holds me tight Fever I'm his Mrs. Daddy, won' t you treat him right
Now you've listened to my story, Here's the point that I have made Chicks were born to give you fever Be it farenheit or centigrade They give you fever When you kiss them Fever if you live, you learn Fever, till you sizzle What a lovely way to burn What a lovely way to burn What a lovely way to burn What a lovely way to burn. What a lovely way to burn.
At the end of the song people cheered loudly, asking for more but Cassandra simply took a small bow. She saw no vampire nor the female fighter. Perhaps she had him cornered somewhere? Cassandra got off the stage.

"DIE YOU GODDAMNED MUTHERFUCKING VAMPIRE!!!!!" Running as fast as I can, I screamed into the night air! Jumping in and around everyone and everything that got in my way! "YOU CAN'T GET AWAY FROM ME! DON'T EVEN TRY IT!" The damn thing smelled of death and decay, it wasn't one of those Rice vampires that make no sound and can easily hypnotize you with their preternatural beauty, no fucking way! This thing was deader than Grandpa Joe! And just as fugly!
"IEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!"
Holy fucking crap! Damn thing was screaming down the alleyways now following that blonde chick! She was a quick mover, and easily escaped him by going into some joop joint.
Suddenly he made a sharp turn, I could tell from the intense look of hunger in his face he hadn't fed in several nights, the bones in his face were protruding badly and the smell was worse than the near by river which reeked of raw sewage.
Having had much experience in killing the undead, I quickly pole vaulted my way up a flight of iron fire escape stairs then after a series of very high somersaults, I landed gracefully on my feet directly in front of him, he had forgotten about the blonde and was about to end the life of a young bar patron. Well not tonight buddy, cause I got myself a sharp wooden stick with your name right on it, then grabbing it out of a black leather strap from my custom made bra, I held it up high the silver engraving on the handle which read "DIE BITCH DIE!" gleaming in the light of the moon. And then with the rage of a woman on a mission to fight all evil and ugly things in general. I slammed it deep into it's dark heart. It's dead blood ozzing out in a black gush.
Taking back my wooden stake, damn things don't come cheap ya know....ya see the trick aint in the stake itself, it's in the silver engraving on the handle. I placed it in a leather bag and went home in search of Valerius, as I walked into the darkness of the night, a bright smile spread across my lips. It was a good night, for there was one less evil thing in the world. And in the quiet darkness of the street someones car stereo blared.
"And another one bites the dust!"
Wrapping my leather coat tightly about me, I smiled again and softly whispered.
"Oh yeah!"

Flipping my dagger in the air I quickly caught it and sheathed it back into the side of my boot. I had already killed two soul suckers whilst my woman protected the innocent blonde lady.
She came around the corner in her leather coat. I saw her smiling face. Yes. All MINE! I thought just as I came out of the shadows and spun her around to kiss her up good and proper.
She yelped in surprise then melted against my hard muscular body, moaning into my mouth. I pulled away to look into her eyes. "I missed you, Tabby."
